Channel League Finals
The Bulldogs had several great performances at the Channel League Finals, the meet that crowns individual event league champions, and is the first gateway to CIF competition. Athletes continue on to the division 3 CIF prelims if they finish in the top 3 in the varsity competitions, or if they meet an "at-large" standard if they finish outside of the top 3. Varsity league champions were Chase Pritchard in the boys long jump - 21-8.75 to move to 8th on the all time list, and Madison Easter in both the girls 100 (11.93 league finals record) and 200 (24.87). Frosh/Soph league champions were Aubrey Easter in the F/S girls 100 at 12.83, and 200 at 26.39 - a league finals F/S record and moving her to 5th on the all time F/S list, and the girls F/S 4x400 team clocking 4:20.40. League runners up included Maxwell Daniel in the 300 hurdles at 40.94 to make CIF in that event, the boys 4x100 team clocking 43.49 to move on, Pritchard leaping 42-0 for 2nd in the triple jump to move on to CIF, Taylor Murphy taking 2nd in the 100 at 12.42 to move on, Avery Murphy clocking a big PR of 48.72 in the 300 hurdles for 2nd in that event and a CIF qualifier, and the girls varsity 4x100 team taking 2nd in 48.23 for a CIF berth. Runners up in the frosh/soph division were Matthew Lidren in the boys shot put at 39-0, and Addison Simpson in the girls 400 clocking 64.63. Third place finishes went to Daniel in the varsity boys 110 hurdles at 15.34 to move on to CIF in that event. For the frosh/soph, Santiago Lee-Baez took third in the boys 800 at 2:13.69, Delaney Machado was third in the girls f/s 400 at 64.70, and the girls f/s 4x100 relay finished 3rd in a time of 52.10. Other notable finishes included Wakine Molina, 6th in the varsity boys high jump at 5-10 to move on to CIF with an at-large mark, Jordan Watts, 5th in the varsity boys long jump at 21-1.50 to move on to CIF with an at-large, and Chloe Williams, 4th in the varsity girls 200 at 25.76 to move to 3rd on the all time list. Chloe will be able to run in CIF as the 3rd place from our league as the Ventura athlete who finished 3rd in the race is dropping the event for CIF.
